How do I play?
Swap two neighbouring glyphs to line up three or more of the same kind. They shatter, the stack above collapses into the gap, and anything that lines up on the way down scores again. Reach the chamber's target before your moves run out. You can swap by dragging one glyph onto its neighbour, or by tapping one and then the other.
What are the glowing glyphs with a line or a ring on them?
Those are power glyphs, and you mint them yourself. Line up four in a row and you get a Sunfire glyph that clears an entire row or column when it goes off. Line up five and you get a Sun Stone, which banishes every glyph of one kind from the floor. Setting one off inside a cascade is where the biggest scores come from.
How are the three suns awarded?
By how much of your move budget you had left when you hit the target. Finish with at least a third of your moves still in hand and you take all three. Scrape across the line on your last move and you take one. Replaying a chamber keeps your best result, so it is always safe to try again.
I am completely stuck on a chamber. What now?
The temple cache sells four things worth carrying. A Seer Stone lights up a swap that works when the floor stops making sense. A Rewind Glyph takes back your last move and the move it cost. A Temple Quake rattles the whole board into a fresh layout. A Hidden Passage slips you past a chamber entirely. Gold comes from clearing chambers and from the daily tribute.
Where did my progress go?
Your progress is saved on your device only, so it is tied to that installation. Deleting the app removes it permanently, and it does not follow you to a new device or restore from a fresh install. There is no account and no cloud save, which is also why the game never asks you to sign in.
Does the game need a connection?
No. Temple of Quetzal runs entirely offline, start to finish. There is nothing to load and nothing to wait for, so it works the same on a plane as it does at home.
Can I make the board easier to read?
Yes. In Settings, turn on Glyph Symbols and every kind gets its own shape badge as well as its own colour, which helps a great deal if colours are hard to tell apart. Reduced Motion calms the shake and softens the pops, and Haptics turns the buzz on your swaps on or off.
Troubleshooting
- Close the app fully and reopen it. This clears up almost anything that looks stuck mid-cascade.
- Restart your device if the game will not open at all, then try again.
- Make sure your device has a little free storage. A full device can stop your progress from being written.
- Check that you are on the latest version from the App Store.
- Reinstalling is the last resort — it fixes a broken install but it also erases your progress, because the save lives only on your device.
